Chiropractic Adjustments/
Manipulation
Chiropractic adjustments, or manipulations as they’re sometimes referred to, are the minor movement of vertebrae in the spine. They are a safe and effective way to live pain-free, naturally. The objective of this movement is to restore normal function in the vertebrae which are dysfunctional due to any number of causes. These causes may be due to normal daily activity or inactivity, posture, or trauma such as a car accident or fall.
When these vertebrae are dysfunctional, it affects the nervous system itself. Without proper function of the brain and nervous system, we can’t function at our peak.
An adjustment is a specific movement from the chiropractor utilizing the hands or an instrument to restore normal function and movement of the vertebrae. This happens with a quick movement and is normally without discomfort. You may hear a noise that sounds like you’re cracking your knuckles, this is referred to as joint cavitation. It is the release of gases such as oxygen and nitrogen from the joint.
Overall, adjustments are an excellent way to keep the body functioning at its highest level. When the spine and nervous system are allowed to function properly, the body is able to respond and perform optimally.
